10 random things about me... on paper!

Remember THIS post?

It inspired me in creating this page...after such a LONG time... finally used the kit I bought from Master Iris Uy ^_^

Had FUN thinking what to do...cutting...pasting...painting...doodling... and making mistakes that I have to "cover up"...literally ^_^ See the biggest photo? I had to cover the original one coz I smeared paint on it... good thing I printed 2 sets....so...there, saved by the bell ^_^

After that, I was tempted to use Kelleigh's Heart Cup digital template with traditional scrapbook stuff...and here's how it end up. Nice huh? I used DCWV papers, old stuff but I still have A LOT left.... hahaha

Have you ever experienced shrieking your heart out in *silent* mode????? I have...just a few days ago when I received an email from Shabby Miss Jenn....congratulating me coz I made it as a DT member!!!!! Wooooooott!!!!!!! OMG...OMfreakingG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good thing I'm the only in my office that time hahaha (well, all the time anyways, nyahahaha!!!)

SO....without further ado... here are my first *layouts* for SMJ... new kit PUPPY LOVE...

Aargghhhh...I think I better start with my 2012 one little word now.... COMMIT.. or should I say re-commit?? lol! re-commit myself in my craft. I've slacked and it pains me ((sigh))....I buy new stuff every now and then but I don't use them...and now they're just gathering up dusts...somewhere in the corner of our new house 0_0 I am so bad... but "some things" happened to me, in my life in the past months and it kind of took away my mojo (been missing it for so long now anyways)...I have a lot of stuff (artsy stuff) going through my head and I wanted to do and create it into life but I can't seem to make myself actually do it. You know what I mean?? Yeah, I know those of you who read my blog..you do :)

2012 one little word

i've thought about this...i will not have a new year's resolution..di ko nmn natutupad or di nmn nangyayari. i've read somewhere (a scrapbooker's/designer's blog), about her one little word for 2012... One little word.. it's not something set on stone but more like an inspiration for yourself..in everything you will or might do in the coming year... when you think about it, it's better than a new year's resolution :D

hmmmm it's gonna be a challenge for me..but they say challenges make one a better person (i am an optimist ^_^ yes I AM!).

so, my one little word for 2012 is: Commit

i know in myself there are some things in my life that badly need this word.

one by one...day by day, i will do my best to carry on this word.

it might make me a better person...

More than a month since I posted here, I thought it's been longer :D

Oh well, my friend Nina tagged me and had to share 10 things about.... ME hahaha.... let's see if I can come up with 10 lol! :D

1. I'm not really good in writing my own thoughts and then share them in public, but I made this blog for scrapbooking purposes only....to express the artsy crafty side of me.

2. I love to collect pens. Any kind.

3. I don't usually change bags, most of the time I only use one and the same bag for more than 6 months...sometimes the whole year. :D

4. I LOVE shoes especially stilettos... but I don't like wearing them I just like looking at them on other people's feet :D lol!

5. I still love watching cartoons. I am not a huge fan of horror or suspense/thriller kind of movies. But I like sci-fi.

6. I love to read. And I miss my collection of books....

7. I don't like chocolates that much. But I can eat a whole lot when I am SO hungry. I prefer white chocolates...and should have nuts.

8. I'd rather have new camera lenses over new cellphones or high-tech computers/laptop. I love photography and I want to learn more and have in-depth knowledge about it.

9. I have a nose ring.

10. I love Linkin Park.

Hello blogging friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year too!

I wish this year to be as fruitful and abundant with blessings as the year 2010... for all of us!

As I've mentioned here before (I think) I've already started working...and now it's been really hectic lately so I keep on forgetting to update my blog. I've also encountered lots of computer problems lately so crafting has been delayed/cancelled for a just a bit...uhm like a month? lol! :D That is why I am so thankful to my designers, they are so ever patient with my absence! :)

So now for starters... I wanna share some stuff I've done lately... some were just late in posting but I've finished these like two weeks ago hahaha

First off, check out this card...........................

Looks like I've cutout all those tiny elements, right? Even the background paper?? The cool thing is, I didn't!! I so love that paper! lol! Well, uhm, the birds are actually adhered with foam tape, just to have "real" dimension :D

This is the kit I used, FIRST FROST by JOFIA DESIGNS... beautiful!!

Hi! I am still alive! And with a new Blog Look too!

Ohhhh!!! I am so bad, not updating my blog again.... well, I got busy coz I am working again... yay! hehehe At first I applied as a secretary but when the Dean saw my CV she placed me in the IT area which is really my expertise....oh and I work in the University here, in the College of Medicine to be exact. Been working there for weeks now and I am loving it, the work is really not that difficult (since I know what I am doing...so far, lmao!). The only thing kind of hard is the language barrier, but I am slowly learning a few words, I hope by next year (lol!) I can understand and speak Arabic :D heehee

Anyways, I hope you like the new look though... I used Pretty Bloggie: Endless Summer by Jennifer Fox Designs

PWCO: Ultimate Summer Challenge

So I joined the Ultimate Summer Challenge of PWCO and my team is the CREATIVE CRITTERS! :) My team-mates: Em , Angela and Meg are so awesome! We were to do one challenge each and the last day of submission is today. My part is the Inspiration challenge... requirement is to be inspired by the stamp image provided to us.

My inspiration is the "theme" of the stamp. So I made a Get well soon goodie bag and card.

*I used the "get well soon" sentiment as part of the purple frame, set the opacity to 25%*

FTLOA: Hello Sunshine

Here are another couple of cards I made for FTLOA...

This one, using Dear Sweet Friend by Janet Carr (there's so many beautiful elements in this card, you would want to use it over and over again!)... The flowers at the top corner of the green paper and the girl were adhered using a foam tape for dimension. The rest are flat (digital and printed).

and for this one, I used "Sew- You're a seamstress" paper kit (really gorgeous vintage prints. Digital papers were resized to 3x3 so the patterns are smaller. The square in the center was adhered with a foam tape. The leaved were actually the center of the doily, I used two shades of green chalk inks and a brown shade along the edges.

nothing so much....
-our internet connection is intermittent as USUAL {it got disconnected 8x (SERIOUSLY) as i type this blog post....imagine how frustrating that is...arghh!!!!!!!!!!}
-our printer decided to act up and won't let me print a decently so i am SO behind my hybrid projects. but that will be fixed soon coz hubby promised to replace the printer with a new one (sooner than i expected!). yipee! and an inkjet one ;) double yes! lol! (oh payday please hurry up!! :D)
-For the Luv of Art announced their Digital Design Team.... and I am one of the lucky girls!!! yipeee!!!!! :D

this one used MAKING WAVES by Jennifer Barrette Designs, a collaboration with Graham Like The Cracker. I only used the Kit and Alpha but it is also offered in BUNDLE..so worth it, i love this kit!

Finished this a week ago..haven't got the chance to post here :)

I used Captured moments by Nikki Beaudreau and Boutique Cute Dolls >>> I SO LOVE this kit<<<

and this hybrid Matchbook album template by Designs by Sunghee

and my take.......

Other supplies: cardstock/photo papers, colored pencils, Sakura Aqualip pens, black journaling pen, DMC thread, white paint, Stickles, foam and double-sided tapes, glue.

Ju Kneipp: Under the sun hybrid card

Hello peeps.... I thought I'd share how I made this hybrid card...

I used:

-cardstock or photo paper
- printer (of course hehehe)
-adhesive (glue, double-sided tape and foam tape
-twine
-trimmer or scissors (whichever you have)
-cutter and cutting mat (optional if you have a super duper nice fine tipped scissors)
- bone folder (for scoring purposes)
- ruler
The digital kit I used is UNDER THE SUN by Ju Kneipp Designs (available HERE and HERE)

Step-by-step (really simple!!):

1. Prepare your base in a 4.25x5.25 document in your editing software. Choose elements you'd like to use. Resize as needed, depends how you like it. I printed mine on an A4 sized cardstock. If you have a very nice photo paper, that would be super cool. Unfortunately my printer is not inkjet so... sad me hehehe

2. Cut and fold your card in half.... as seen here...(never mind my tortured cutting mat lol!)

3. Cut all the printed elements.

4. Use double-sided tape or glue to adhere your elements to the cardbase.

I also used foam tape for added dimension...

5. Layer the yellow flowers as seen below... curl the edges using a ballpen or the tip of a paintbrush :)

6. I tied a brown twine to the red flower with button...

curl the twine as well if you like...

7. Layer everything else and add the cutout love sentiment (I opted to use just the love wordart )..

Voila...you finished your card! :)
